QB Services
Quilting Bug is your source for all your longarm quilting needs. You can choose a
edge-to-edge design, stitch-in-the-ditch, freehand, or choose from any of our many templates for your
pattern. If you have a design in mind for your quilting pattern bring it along with you and we will try and
incorporate it into the project.

Longarm quilting is a hand-guided art. Thus, computerized perfection cannot be achieved nor is it a built-in
part of the QB longarm quilting process. Please insure that your piecing and borders lie flat. Longarm quilting
will not "fix" misaligned patchwork or the uneven borders that can cause your quilt to have puckers or tucks when
quilted. Your quilt will be as free of pleats, fullness or tucks as your piecing allows.
* Extra charges may be added for quilt preparations that must be completed by Quilting Bug prior to quilting.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to give me a call. I'm happy to assist you in getting everything
prepared, and going over any of the details you need further information on.

Quilt
Preparation
Preparing your quilt for machine quilting at our
shop
|
Please take the time to follow these
guidelines, your quilt is worth the extra effort…
Quilt Top:
Do not baste your quilt, with pins
or any other method.
Identify the head or top of your
quilt top and head or top of the backing if applicable, with a piece of paper marked
with pencil and taped or pinned to fabric.
Square your quilt top.
Press your quilt well. Seams open
or to one side.
Trim all loose threads on your
quilt, they can show under light fabric. They also can cause snags and uneven
stitching.
Quilt top should be free of
embellishments such as buttons, charms, pins, sequins, couching, etc.
Borders that do not lay flat may
cause tucks, pleats or fullness.
Backing:
Square the backing,
Allow an extra 4-6 inches beyond all sides of the quilt top. 100% cotton is recommended. Bed
sheets are not. The dense nature can prevent needle penetration, causing skipped
stitches.
Trim selvage edges from seams and
press open. Press well.
Backing preparation service is
available, $10.00 per seam charge, plus an additional $5.00 to square backing fabric once
prepared.
Batting:
You may supply your own batting
(allow an extra 4-6 inches beyond all sides of the quilt top) or purchase batting from
us.
